Merrett, Thorold
Thorold Merrett was a champion wingman in Collingwood's1953 and '58 premiership sides. He played 180 games and kicked 148 goals for the mighty Magpies from '50 to '60.

Aged just 16, Merrett approached to Richmond coach Jack Dyer for a run but his pleas were rejected. But Collingwood took a punt on the enthusiastic youngster and within two years he was picked to play for the Big V.

Thorold is a proud member of the AFL Premiership Players Club.

And a top bloke to boot.
